The Place Promised in Our Early Days (Shinkai, 2004)

Another slow paced, nostalgic and romantic movie from writer/director Shinkai. A strange tower opening parallel worlds form the centerpiece of the story, and around it (r)evolves a bitter sweet love story. It definitely evoke feelings of lost places, lost times, and the lighting in the imagery is stunningly beautiful.
